Regular Troop Meetings
Weekly Troop meetings are held at Bedminster School on Monday night from
7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Parents are always more than welcome to attend. All scouts
are expected to bring a 3-ring binder to use as a notebook, a pen and/or pencil,
their Scout Handbook, and to wear their full Scout dress uniform.
The Dress Uniform
The purpose of a uniform is to identify scouts as members of Boy Scouts of America and Troop 53, to showcase achievements of rank, and to enhance a sense of uniformity among the scouts. There are weekly uniform inspections, Scouts will require the following in order to pass:
Neckerchief rolled neatly
Neckerchief slide made of natural materials
Scout Shirt
White, non-logo (except a silk-screened Troop 53 or other Boy Scout white
shirt)shirt under uniform shirt
Collar tucked in
All buttons buttoned
Red epaulets on shoulders
Proper badges in the proper place:
Council Patch, American Flag, Troop 53, Rank Badge, Merit Badges (on sash if
necessary)
Scout belt
Knot cord
Scout pants
Second belt (second class and above) with approprate rope award
Pocket knife
Dark socks
Sneakers
Scout Handbook
Scout binder
Pen and/or Pencil
