REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION FOR THE SCOUTMASTER HONORARY EXPEDITION

 

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR A SCOUT’S FIRST TRIP

 

  1. Attain rank of 2nd Class

  2. Earn White Rope

  3. Earn Knife and Axe

  4. Earn 195 Points

  5. Pass Boy Scout Swim Test, plus 50 yards, during this Scouting year

  6. Be active in your patrol during the Scouting year

  7. Meet the following 1st Class requirements: 1, 2, 8 (A, B, C, D)

  8. Correctly pack your backpack for an overnight campout and carry the gear on your back for at least 1¼ miles to your camp.  After camping carry it back

  9. Do the following: (A)   Tell the dangers of moving a badly injured person   (B)  Tell the best way to get medical help quickly  (C) Show that you have names, addresses and phone numbers for medical help in your wallet

  10.  Show water rescue for reaching, throwing, going with support

  11. Meet all other requirements and deadlines regarding fees, meeting dates, haircuts, medical certification, permission slips, etc.  Parents must attend the Summer Trip Parents’ Night and final pack inspection

  12.  Attend the Delaware River Canoeing Trip and participate in the Safety Afloat Training

  13. Show Scout Spirit

 

 

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR A SCOUT’S SECOND TRIP

 

  1. Attain rank of 1st Class Rank
  2. Earn Red Rope
  3. Earn 195 points minimum
  4. Pass Boy Scout Swim Test, plus 50 yards, during this Scouting year
  5. Be active in your patrol during the Scouting year
  6. Participate in the Safety Afloat Training during this Scouting year
  7. Meet all other requirements and deadlines regarding fees, meeting dates, haircuts, medical certification, permission slips, etc.  Parents must attend the Summer Trip Parents’ Night and final pack inspection
  8. Show Scout Spirit.
  9. Earn First Aid Merit Badge

 

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR A SCOUT’S THIRD TRIP

 

  1. Attain rank of Star Scout
  2. Earn ½ Blue Rope (Knots or Project)
  3. Earn 220 points minimum
  4. Pass Boy Scout Swim Test, plus 50 yards, during this Scouting year
  5. Be active in the Troop for this Scouting year
  6.  Participate in the Safety Afloat Training during this Scouting year
  7.  Meet all other requirements and deadlines regarding fees, meeting dates, haircuts, medical certification, permission slips, etc.  Parents must attend the Summer Trip Parents’ Night and final pack inspection
  8. Show Scout Spirit.
  9. Demonstrate leadership, effort, and self improvement
  10. Demonstrate a sincere effort in your personal advancement, during this Scout year
  11. Earn Canoe Merit Badge

 

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR A SCOUT'S FOURTH TRIP AND BEYOND

  1. Advance towards Life Scout, Eagle Scout, or Eagle Palms

  2. Earn second half of Blue Rope (Knots or Project)

  3. Be active in the Troop for the year (including at least one full Campout)

  4. Pass the Boy Scout Swim Test, plus 50 yards, during this Scouting year

  5. Meet all other requirements and deadlines regarding fees, meeting dates, haircuts, medical certification, permission slips, etc. Parents must attend the Summer Trip Parents’ Night and final pack inspection

  6. Show Scout Spirit 7. Demonstrate leadership, effort, and self improvement

  7. Correctly demonstrate one man portage of a Canoe for about 50 yards (Portages completed on a previous trip are acceptable)
